My name is Giana LaCedra, and I am a former student-athlete at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where I competed as a D1 pitcher. I have been a pitcher for my entire softball career and have spent the past 8 years coaching and developing athletes through individualized pitching instruction.
I graduated this year (2026) with a degree in Elementary and Special Education, which shapes my coaching approach by emphasizing patience, clear communication, and adapting to each athlete’s learning style.
I began giving lessons while attending Lowell High School (2018–2022), where I was honored as the Massachusetts Softball Gatorade Player of the Year for four consecutive years (2019–2022). During that time, I was also recognized by the Lowell Sun, Boston Globe, and Boston Herald for my achievements on the field.
In addition to my high school career, I competed on high-level travel teams across the East Coast from 12U through 18U, including the New England Hurricanes, Rhode Island Thunder Gold, and New Jersey Intensity. These experiences allowed me to compete nationally and gain exposure throughout the college recruiting process.
Throughout my coaching career, I have worked with athletes in both individual and group settings. I have led large-scale clinics with Tyngsboro Youth Softball, organized and directed my own clinics during my collegiate career, and served as an instructor for University of Massachusetts Lowell softball camps. I have also assisted in coaching local youth teams and worked with a variety of travel organizations, gaining experience with athletes across multiple age groups and competitive levels.
At the collegiate level, I was named UMass Lowell Female Rookie of the Year, earned America East Rookie of the Week honors 2x, and was selected to the All-Conference Team.
Every pitcher is unique. All skill levels welcome.
I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to success. Each athlete develops differently, so I tailor my instruction to fit their individual strengths and needs. My goal is to build strong fundamentals while helping each athlete grow in all aspects of pitching.
